Morpheus: A Poem

Morpheus

I have an idea Morpheus

That when I ‘m asleep

And the cold air strikes my lids

And my heart slows down its beat

That I ‘m not dreaming

I have an idea Morpheus

That when I dance in the clouds

And the wood nymphs come to see me

And I get lost in the crowds

That I don’t really dream

What if dear Morpheus

Dreams do not exist?

What if dreams are memories?

Don’t you see my wish?

The world is pure

I sit upon a ships mast

And mermaids swim the shore

But that’s just a dream

Oh my dear Morpheus

A billion things I’d do

If dreams were but a wish

I’d give a thousand to you.
